A simple but delicious cake recipe:

Dissolve butter and let cool, then beat sugar, salt and gingerbread spice with the whisks of a hand mixer until very creamy. Gradually fold in eggs with the whisk.

Mix and sift flour, cornstarch and baking powder and stir into the egg mixture alternately with heavy cream.

Heat a waffle iron and brush with Íl. Three tablespoons at a time in the waffle iron form and bake for 4-5 minutes until golden brown. Keep the baked waffles warm and crispy on a grid with kitchen roll in the hot stove at 100 °C until serving.

Serve with apple compote flavored with vanilla sugar.
