For the strawberry cake with curd base, beat soft butter with sugar, salt, vanilla sugar and egg yolks until very fluffy. Add lemon zest and curd cheese. Beat the egg whites until stiff and add to the curd mixture. Mix flour with baking powder, sift over the top and fold in loosely, do not stir again.
Pour the dough into a greased, floured cake pan and bake the curd cake for about 40-45 minutes at 175 degrees.
