Beat eggs, sugar, salt, lemon and vanilla in a bowl first over hot water bath and then cold. Mix in flour and hot butter and pour into a butter (or oil) greased, flour or crumb dusted cake, wall or ring cake pan (or small or large silicone molds).

Bake in the preheated oven at approx. 165 °C for approx. 45 minutes (depending on size). While still warm, turn out of the mold and spread with jam, possibly glaze thinly with fondant or chocolate icing and decorate with various fruits.

After about 10 minutes baking time, cut the crust lengthwise with a greased knife.

Preparation Tip:

Variations : Divide the mixture and add 60 g of coarsely chopped nuts (according to choice and stock) to one half. In the other half, mix in 60 g of finely chopped (or chopped in a food processor, candied or dried fruit).
