Instructions:

For Powidl, place the washed, halved and pitted plums in the saucepan and bring to the boil, stirring occasionally.

Then reduce to a very low boil until thick – this will take about 2 hours. Add sugar and slivovitz (or rum) and cook for another half hour.

Fill the powidl into sterilized jars while it is still hot.

Preparation Tip:

Use Powidl to fill dumplings, yeast dumplings or simply as a sweet spread on bread!
