First, bring the milk to a boil with the water, salt and vanilla sugar. Stir in the fine oat flakes, reduce the heat and simmer gently for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Add the wild strawberries (reserve a few for decoration, if desired) and simmer briefly. Sweeten with a little honey to taste.
Arrange the finished wild strawberry porridge in bowls and serve while still warm.
