For the walnut cake, cream butter, sugar, vanilla sugar, salt and the eggs. Gradually add nuts, flour mixed with baking powder and brandy.

Grease a baking pan, sprinkle with breadcrumbs. Pour in the dough and bake in a preheated oven at 175 °C for about 50 minutes.

Sprinkle the cooled and overturned cake with powdered sugar.
