Toast oatmeal, 3/4 of the butter and 3/4 of the sugar until golden. Cool.

Cut the unpeeled rhubarb stalks into very small cubes. Mix with ginger powder, cinnamon and the remaining sugar.

Butter the gratin dish. Put in half of the oatmeal mixture and spread the rhubarb mixture evenly on top. Beat the eggs and mix with the milk and the remaining oatmeal mixture. Spread evenly over the rhubarb and add the remaining butter in flakes on top. Place in the center of the 200 o hot stove and bake for 30 to 40 minutes.
