For the chocolate chip cookies, knead the butter with sugar, salt, milk and flour into a smooth shortcrust dough. Knead in the chocolate chips or pieces and form the dough into a roll.
Chill this roll in the refrigerator for 1 hour, then cut into 0.5 cm thick slices. Place them on a prepared baking sheet and bake the cookies at 200 °C for about 10 minutes.
Let the baked cookies cool on a cooling rack.

Make the chocolate chip cookies with white chocolate chips or mixed with dark and light chocolate chips.
