A delicious fish recipe for any occasion!
This is the national dish of Jamaica – ackee with salt fish. The taste is very hearty and the dish is eaten there just as for breakfast. You can get ackee (a mushroom-like tree fruit) in delicatessen stores.
Cook the canned ackee in a little salted water until “al dente” (about 10-20 minutes) and drain.
Bone the salt fish ( from the barrel ) and cook it to remove excess sa
lz to remove. Then make the oil hot with salt and pepper and brown the fish in it with the tomatoes & onions & carrot. Then add the ackee and saute for a few min. Bring to the table hot !
