Try this delicious cake recipe:

(*) For a cake springform pan of 26-28 cm ø.

Meanwhile, stir butter until it turns white and visibly increased in volume. Add sugar and stir until dissolved.

Add egg yolks, juice of one lemon and rum alternately, stirring vigorously, all together to form a foamy cream.

Beat egg whites until stiff peaks form. Mix flour and baking powder and fold into the butter-egg yolk cream alternately with the egg whites.

Remove the skin from the apples, cut them in half and remove the core. Score the apples crosswise every 5 mm on the convex side, but only deep enough to still hold them together. Turn apples in sugar to the other side.

Fill the dough into the greased tart springform pan, spread the apples evenly on top and press them in a little.

Bake in the oven at 180 degrees for 30 minutes. Cool and sprinkle with powdered sugar.
