Instructions:

Preheat the oven to 180 °C. Grease a springform pan (approx. 24 cm diameter) with butter and sprinkle with flour.

For the topping, wash the apples, peel to taste and remove the core. Cut into thin slices and immediately mix with lemon juice. Mix cinnamon with granulated sugar in a bowl.

For the sponge mixture, cream butter with cinnamon and vanilla. Add sugar gradually and beat thoroughly. Beat in eggs, one at a time, until smooth and combined. Sift flour with baking powder and mix into the batter with the milk.

Pour the dough into the prepared springform pan and cover with apple slices in a circle. Sprinkle the cinnamon-sugar mixture on top and bake the cake in a hot oven for about 45 minutes. (If the cake browns too quickly, cover with aluminum foil).

Enjoy warm or cold.
