For the flower cupcakes, first preheat the oven to 160 °C. Fill paper cups into the cavities of a muffin pan (or butter and flour).

Add baking soda and baking powder to the flour in a bowl. In another bowl, lightly beat sugar and egg. Add the buttermilk and oil. Now gently fold the flour into this mixture and do not over mix. Fold in chocolate drops only briefly.

Pour the batter into the muffin cups about 3/4 full. Bake on the middle rack for about 20 minutes. Allow to cool.

For the topping, whip whipped cream with cream stiffener and vanilla sugar. Pour into a piping bag fitted with a large star nozzle and pipe onto the cooled cupcakes.

Color the fondant to your liking and roll out thinly with some cornstarch. Cut out or cut out flowers. Decorate the flower cupcakes with them.
