Remove the skin from the figs and cut the fruit in half. Put them in a saucepan with cloves and red wine. Add the sugar and stir it in. Bring everything to a leisurely boil and bubble for 3 min.

Prepare twist-off jars, pour in the hot jam. Close the jars and place on the spot with the lid down on a dish rack, stand for 5 min. Turn again to the other side, cool.
