Instructions:

For the Easter cookies, first sift the flour onto the surface, press a bulge in the center and pour in the egg. Sift the powdered sugar over the top. Cut the marzipan into small cubes or crumble as finely as possible and sprinkle over the top. Spread the butter in flakes and the salt evenly over the edge of the flour. Chop everything with a large knife, then quickly and thoroughly knead together. Form into a ball and chill for at least an hour.

Roll out the dough on a lightly floured surface to a thickness of 3 mm. Cut out or cut out eggs. With a pointed stick, press holes in them for hanging. Lift onto a thinly greased baking sheet and bake on middle rack at 200 °C for 12-15 minutes until light brown. Transfer to a cooling rack and let cool. Prepare the whole dough in this way.

For garnish, stir confectioners’ sugar with egg whites to make a sprayable icing and color with food coloring. Twist small piping bags from parchment paper, fill with colored icing, cut off just a very little at the very end of the tip and decorate the cookies with the icing. Or frost the cookies and garnish with sugar flowers.

When decorations are dry, poke the hole for hanging, then let Easter cookies dry completely.

Preparation Tip:

Of course, the Easter cookies can be cut out in any shape.
