For the date cinnamon balls with walnuts, spread the walnuts on a baking tray with baking paper. Preheat the oven to 170 °C top/bottom heat.

Roast for 15-20 minutes, turning in between every now and then. Afterwards, keep the oven running. Wrap the nuts in a tea towel and place them in the oven, which has already been turned off.

After about 5 minutes, rub the nuts in the towel between your hands to get the shell off. When the nuts are completely cool, grate or chop the carefully shelled nuts in a nut grater or stand mixer.

Spread the nuts on a large plate and mix with the cinnamon. Using your fingers, pit and crush the dates. On the plate, knead dates with the nuts.

Divide the mixture into evenly sized pieces and roll balls between your hands. Finally, roll the formed balls again in the nuts.
